Founded in 1934 The “Shelbyville Golf and Fishing Club” as it was originally named began as a 9-hole golf course surrounded by farmland. Over the past 94 years the course and community has grown to include a dynamic 18-hole championship golf course. 6 beautifully lit Pickleball courts, a 22-acre stocked fishing lake, and a junior Olympic sized swimming pool. The semi-private golf course allows some outside guest play. Collared shirts and reservations are required, some restrictions apply.
Clarence Riley Blankenship, “Buck”Was born in 1906 in Somerset, Kentucky and was both a golf course owner, operator and hall of fame golf course designer.A native of Somerset, Blankenship was a long time PGA Member and built a legacy as a golf course designer (over 35 golf courses to his credit, primarily in Kentucky), golf course owner/operator, and promoter of the game. He designed, owned, and operated the popular Bright Leaf Golf Resort in Harrodsburg.
